Bacon Wrapped Green Beans

Cook Time 30 minutes
Servings: 8 bundles

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 stick butter
  • light brown sugar
  • minced garlic
  • soy sauce
  • black pepper
  • minced fresh parsley to finish

Equipment

  • parchment paper
  • Rimmed half-sheet pan
  • Pastry brush
  • small saucepan

Method

  1. Rinse the green beans under running water.
  2. Trim off the stem ends.
  3. Divide the beans into 8 piles of 8 to 10 beans each.
  4. Melt the butter with the light brown sugar and minced garlic over low heat, then stir in the soy sauce and black pepper to make a glaze.
  5. Wrap each bundle in one bacon slice and tuck the end under.
  6. Arrange the bundles seam-side down on a parchment-lined pan.
  7. Brush the bundles with the glaze.
  8. Bake at 400°F, glazing again halfway, for 25 to 30 minutes total, until the bacon is crisp and deep golden-brown and the beans are tender with slightly charred tips.
  9. Move the bundles to a platter and top with minced parsley and cracked black pepper.
  10. Serve warm with lemon wedges.
